THE PA KUA
Using the star cycle and observing the subtle changes in the electro-magnetic forces around them, the Ancient Sages in China were able to ascribe certain qualities and life aspirations to each of the compass locations represented by the eight Trigrams of the octagonal Pa Kua.
PA KUA: Pa means 8, Kua means Trigrams
The Yin odd numbers have the cardinal points (North, South, East and West)
The Yang even numbers have the secondary positions.
This is the Yang arrangement of Trigrams used for living environments.
The Yin arrangement is most often used for burial sites.
NORTH 1 KÕAN Ð WATER represents our career, our journey through life; its element is water and its direction is North. The Oceanographic Museum which has its main entrance facing North and is a museum representing the history and biology of life associated with water has excellent Feng Shui.
SOUTHWEST 2 Ð EARTH represents romance, union and relationships and is associated with the maternal female; its element is earth and its direction is Southwest. Monaco is famous for the fairytale romance and marriage of Prince Rainier to Grace Kelly in 1956. Many honeymoon couples visit Monaco as it is such a romantic place!
EAST 3 - WOOD represents health, vitality, family and ancestors; it is associated with new beginnings and its element is wood and direction East.
The Thalasotherapy Centre is situated here in Monaco. Prince Albert is committed to sport and has established the SportÕs Hospital. Monaco has a rich history and this will soon be represented in a new Monaco History Museum.
SOUTHEAST 4 Ð WOOD represents wealth, blessings, growth and assimilation; it is associated with wind and spring, its element is wood and direction southeast. The Casino is in the centre of Monaco and in the Southeast sector. Prince Albert is a billionaire! The centre of the Pa Kua is called the ÒTai ChiÓ as this is where all the energy originates and accumulates, it represents 360 degrees; this is where the Casino is, it is a highly energetic place and ideally located.
NORTHWEST Ð 6 METAL represents leadership, achievement, helpful friends, mentors and teachers and symbolises heaven; it is associated with the head of the household and its element is strong metal and direction northwest. The tallest building in the centre of Monaco is called ÒLe MillefioriÓ after the fact that this area was once famous for its flowers and the distillation of essential oils. Colette said that Monaco was the only country in the world where the boarders are made of flowers. Monaco is famous for it flowers; the floral displays, the competition of bouquets, its Rose garden, Exotic Cactus garden and many smaller, very beautiful, manicured gardens.
WEST Ð 7 METAL represents creativity, joy and children; it is associated with autumn and its element is soft metal and its direction west. Monaco is famous for the Opera, Ballet, Orchestra, Monaco Stamps and many other creative pursuits. Everyone agrees that it is a very safe place in which to bring up children and there are many activities organised for them like ice skating in the winter, diving classes, piano, ballet, painting and many other courses.
NORTHEAST Ð 8 EARTH represents inner knowledge, wisdom and education; it is associated with winter, its element is earth and direction northeast. Monaco students achieve very high baccalaureate results; there is a hotel and catering school and even a university. Many conferences for doctors, surgeons and other professionals are held in this cultural paradise.
SOUTH Ð 9 FIRE represents fame and reputation in the world; it is associated with summer, its element is fire and direction south. Monaco is famous for the Grand Prix and has a reputation for luxury and refinement - ÒLive where luxury lives.Ó
Monaco has excellent Feng Shui in every respect and is now encouraging philanthropic activities, environmental awareness and health through sport. The future of this Principality looks very bright indeed.
