THE YIN EARTH OX 2009
The Chinese New Year of the ÒYin Earth OxÓ starts on February 4th 2009 for Feng Shui enthusiasts. The heavenly stem is yin earth and the earthly branch is yin earth too but with hidden water and gold. Earth sitting on earth symbolizes a garden, a garden gives a sense of harmony, peace and relaxation, but, it needs hard work to make it a beautiful place. 2009 will be a time for slowing down and healing after the turbulent affairs the world has experienced since 2001, yet it will also be a time for rebuilding and reconstruction from the damage brought by wars and natural disasters. Above all, in this double earth year we should both care for and appreciate planet Earth.
The Ox is the second of the 12 animal signs in the Chinese zodiac and represents this construction and building phase, after a new beginning of a 12 year cycle. Ox and cattle are blessed by the compassionate Chinese goddess Kwan Yin because of their peaceful nature. The ancient Taoists harnessed the Ox, but did not milk it because they honoured this strong, hardworking animal. The Year of the Ox is a year when we should all work hard, like oxen ploughing fields to ensure success in our endeavours. We should be conservative, play safe and aim for stability.
With the emphasis on the earth element there could be health problems related to the stomach, pancreas, muscles and cells according to Chinese medicine. We should take extra care to avoid stomach problems, food poisoning, diarrhoea and obesity. Diabetes and cancer are caused by an imbalance of the earth element. Eat a fresh, organic, mainly vegetarian diet and take plenty of exercise and fresh air with moderate sunshine!
The earth industries are represented by property, housing, construction, mining, insurance and hotels. They will have an active year in 2009 as there is hidden water and gold in the Ox which symbolises money and productivity. However, there will be competition as the prominent earth element represents competitors. The spring and summer months show strong wood and fire influences which should bring upward surges in both the stock and property markets which will help to create more stability and calmness, especially in the second half of the year.
The Ox is part of a serious configuration in Chinese animal astrology called the ÒThree Earth PenaltyÓ and this configuration is formed when the earth animals, Ox, Dog and Goat appear at the same time. This penalty can cause serious misfortunes related to the earth element. July is a Goat month and October is a Dog month. People born in the Year of the Goat and Dog should carry a Rat pendant which will help to minimize such penalties.
The Grand Duke Ð Northeast 1 (22.6-37.5 Degrees)
Do not disturb this sector or you will aggravate the negative energies. There should be no renovations in this area which can also cause serious health problems. Do NOT face this direction. Put your back to this direction, as doing so will enable you to have the upper hand in professional negotiations and career endeavours.
The 3 Killings Ð East (67.6-112.5 Degrees)
This sector should not be disturbed at all, especially for renovations which can result in negative consequences for the property. If this sector is unsettled there can be very negative repercussions.
The Year Breaker Ð Southwest 1 (202.6-217.5 Degrees)
Again, any renovations should be avoided and it should not be disturbed at all as this can lead to very serious repercussions, even more serious than the Grand Duke.
The Flying Star reigning number is 9 which signifies completion, future prosperity and a time of expansion. Fire also symbolises explosions, so be careful.
2009 will be a year of more stability, bringing some recovery from the difficulties of 2008 but success will only be achieved by diligent, conscientious, hard work.
